TUESDAY 26TH APRIL 2011, 9PM UK TIME
A date and time for your diary. The return of what was an innovative live show when it started back in 2009. The live show was another platform from which I could share my journey as a new filmmaker, in the hope that it would help inspire other like minded folk. It quickly became a place for filmmaker’s to network and promote their projects.
The 21 episodes of the original show lead to many creative minds getting together and collaborating on film projects. Too many to list on here, you know who you are.
A hectic film development schedule and work commitments meant that the show had to take a break. However, it’s coming back. Bigger and better than before and with a more clear mission statement:
To help bring filmmaker’s and creative minds together and breed new film projects, as well as inspire and motivate.
We’re not teaching film, we’re just sharing our experiences and inviting filmmaker’s from around the world to share theirs.
The Live Show Channel currently has over 220,000 viewer minutes from past episodes, which is incredible if you take our modest and humble reach into consideration. Our live shows were averaging 40 – 60 live viewers per episode with considerably more watching again via video-on-demand.
It’s time now for us to take the show even further, break new ground and do even more to help in what is an incredibly difficult industry to break into.
The new show will be appealing to you if you are a director, writer, producer, cameraman, sound guy, editor, 1st AD, actor and so on. There’s a brand new format to the show which will open it up for others to get involved, live!
Each week we will have live guests from around the world, but not from our studio. We will be handing over, live, to the homes of creative people around the world. They’ll each get 10 minutes to talk about (and promote) their current film projects. They’ll share the process and may even ask for your help!
If you’re a filmmaker, and this includes producers, writers etc, and have access to good broadband speeds as well as a webcam (with microphone), and would like to appear on a future live show – please email me your details here.
The show will be packed with industry news, updates on where I’m at with my projects AND a live phone-in type chat section towards the end where you can dial-in via Skype and lend your voice to the show.
It’s all completely experimental, and with your help and support we can truly turn this into a place where filmmaking magic can really happen.
I’d like to take this opportunity and welcome two new members to the live show, working behind the scenes will be Saxon Rix and Ash Yates. We’re now frantically putting the show together ready for the launch on Tuesday 26th April 2011 at 9pm UK time.
Please, please, PLEASE, ‘like’ this page, Tweet, Facebook and spread the word. This live show could be a huge success and bring lots of filmmakers together!
UPDATE: If you are on Twitter, we’ve decided to use the following hashtag to help promote the show. Please, if you Tweet about the show, use #filmshow in your message. Thank you for your support.
Many thanks and here’s looking forward to the 26th.
